Chamber President's Message

March 1, 2010

Dear members and distinguished business owners,

Well it’s March already, how time flies.  We have officially had two impressive luncheons with one near, and our first event The Dixie Market Place under our belt.   I am amazed to see how people came together for something so positive; it just goes to show how resilient we all really are in these times.  March 20th is near, which we will be hosting Date Night in Dixie.  This event is geared to a more personal touch and intimate part of what we as a chamber are trying to accomplish.  This evening event will be filled with great food, great entertainment, and great friends accompanied by a fantastic live service auction.  If you have children you need not worry since child care will be available at request.  Take this opportunity to get to know your fellow businesses as well as the customers and clients who keep us all in business.  A friend once told me that as long as I do what’s in the best interest of my customer, then what I need to survive will happen naturally.  I do believe that.  I want to thank everyone who donated items for both the silent auction as well as the live service auction.  I especially want to thank our sponsors; The Washington City Community Center, Forevermore Events,  Today in Dixie, HOST business services, Ure’ Personal Chef and Steamroller for all of your extended support.  There are many others not mentioned, however you know who you are.  I also want to thank my board members and our chamber members for believing in my vision, and standing behind me so that we could be catalysts and set an example that hopefully others can learn from and follow so that we may build strength in our cities and our communities.

Thank you,

Derrick Martinez
